Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi said on Sunday that today the nation was paying rich tributes to the great sacrifices and invaluable services rendered by the Pakistan Navy personnel for the country’s defence during the war of 1965 against India, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In his message on the occasion of Navy Day, the minister said that September 8 held an important position in the history of the country’s defence.
“It was on this day way back in 1965 that our brave Navy personnel had exposed the Indian Navy’s claim that it was the strongest in the world,” he said, adding, “These were not only our land forces and the air force, which foiled the enemy’s designs.
Our navy did not lag behind either as it taught the Indian Navy a lesson during the war.”
“We are proud of the officers and personnel of the Pakistan Navy,” Naqvi said, adding, “Their feats during the war will always be written in golden words.”
