The National Assembly passed a resolution on Friday to honour Arshad Nadeem, recognising his remarkable achievements and calling for him to be awarded a civil honour.

According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the resolution was presented by Federal Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar, who extended congratulations to Arshad Nadeem for his exceptional performance.

In the resolution, the mover admired Arshad Nadeem for his great success in the Olympic Games and urged the government to award him a civil honour.

During the Assembly session, Chairman of the Pakistan People's Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari addressed the House, expressing the nation's pride in Arshad Nadeem's victory.

PPP Chairman Bilawal congratulated Arshad Nadeem on behalf of the entire nation and the Assembly, acknowledging his hard work in achieving the impossible.

He said Arshad Nadeem is set to bring home a gold medal for Pakistan by breaking records in the Olympics, which he said is proof that when given opportunities, Pakistani youth can achieve great victories.

Bilawal emphasised the nation's pride in Arshad Nadeem and urged unified support for athletes, suggesting that every talented child in Pakistan deserves backing.

Bilawal proposed that a consensus should be reached regarding athlete sponsorships and suggested the establishment of an endowment fund with contributions from both the federal and provincial governments.

He added that this endowment fund would support young athletes across the country, ensuring that in the next Olympics, every province could produce its own Arshad Nadeem.
