Lahore High Court Justice (retired) Safdar Saleem Shahid has been appointed as Chairman Medical Tribunal Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

After due consultation with the Chief Justice of Pakistan, the Prime Minister approved the appointment. Justice Safdar Saleem has got the honor of being appointed as the first Chairman Medical Tribunal.

He was appointed for three years while the jurisdiction of the Medical Tribunal will be all over the country including Punjab.

After the Prime Minister's approval, the Ministry of Law and Justice issued the notification of the appointment. Chairman Medical Tribunal Justice Safdar Saleem Shahid will appoint two retired High Court judges as members of the tribunal while two members will also be appointed by the government.
