Four suspected monkeypox patients who were being shifted from Islamabad International Airport to PIMS Hospital have escaped on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel, quoting sources.

Due to the negligence of the Border Health Services staff, the monkeypox suspects who were deported from Libya disappeared from the ambulance which was transporting them to the hospital.

The sources said that the suspected Pakistani patients were sent back to their country in a special flight which landed at the Islamabad Airport on the night of September 8. Medical staff traced monkeypox systems in the four Pakistanis during the screening and they were separated from other passengers.

The four suspects were identified as Rehman Tariq, Ali Hamza, Zulqarnain and Naeem.

They disappeared from the ambulance along with their medical files prepared by the staff at the airport.

The Border Health Services officials are keeping mum on the incident.
