The Education Ministry has presented alarming details in the National Assembly, revealing that 26.2 million children are out of school, reported 24NewsHD TV channel Monday.

The data highlights a significant education crisis affecting various age groups. For children aged 5 to 9 years 10.77 million are out of school, including 4.97 million boys and 5.8 million girls.

Among children aged 10 to 12 years, a total of 4.93 million are missing out on middle-level education with 2.1 million boys and 2.83 million girls deprived of schooling.

The report further states that 4.54 million students, including 2.31 million boys and 2.24 million girls.

While at the higher secondary level, 5.95 million students are out of school, including 2.99 million boys and 2.95 million girls. These statistics highlight a significant challenge in providing access to education for millions of children, particularly for girls and call for urgent measures to address this growing issue.
