The Punjab Curriculum and Textbook Board has announced changes to the syllabus for 9th and 11th grades, with new textbooks to be published in the next academic year. A notification has been issued to print the new syllabus books for various subjects.
Students in the ninth and eleventh grades will begin studying a new curriculum for English, Urdu, Islamic Studies, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Biology, and Computer Science in the upcoming academic year. Meanwhile, in order to provide a smooth transition to the new academic standards, the syllabus for the tenth and twelfth grades will be updated in the academic year 2026.
The decision aims to update the educational content to meet current academic standards and address the evolving needs of students. As part of these changes, the curriculum will also focus on Pakistan’s cultural and historical importance, particularly in subjects like Islamiat and Social Studies. The revised textbooks are expected to be available before the new academic year begins, ensuring students and teachers are prepared to engage with the updated syllabus. These changes are part of a broader effort by the Punjab government to improve the quality of education across the region.
