Rawalpindi, Islamabad Union of Journalists (RIUJ) on Monday strongly condemned the use of derogatory words by KP Chief Minister (CM) Ali Amin Gandapur against members of their community, especially female journalists, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a statement, the RIUJ attributed the CM’s language to his poor upbringing.
The body further said that Imran Khan also used to assail the media and levelled false allegations against it when he was the country’s prime minister. “But now when he is in jail, he heaps praise on the same media and yearns for access to journalists,” read the statement.
The RIUJ further said that the use of foul language by Gandapur against journalists proved that holding the media responsible for its defeats was part of its training.
The Union also said that it would soon announce the course of action it would take to voice its concern over the chief minister’s tirade.
It said it would also raise the issue at all forums.
