1,072 arrested for violating Kite Flying Act during March in Lahore

Police arrested 1072 people for violating the Kite Flying Act and registered 1049 cases against them during ongoing crackdown in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday. 

According to spokesperson Lahore Police, a total of 3242 people involved in kite flying were arrested this year and 3100 cases were registered against accused. 

As many as 109276 kites and 3684 spinning wheels were recovered from the possession of the arrested accused. 

CCPO Lahore Bilal Siddique Kamiana directed supervisory officers to strictly implement the Kite Flying Act.

He said indiscriminate action will be taken against violation of the Kite Flying Act. 

Police officers should remain active in the field and keep a close watch on kite flying, CCPO Lahore directed.

Meanwhile, Lahore High Court has summoned Deputy Commissioner Lahore in kite flying case.

Court ordered SSP Operations and DC to appear with report of killed and injured.

Justice Malik Muhammad Awais Khalid heard the petition of the Judicial Activism Panel.

Assistant Advocate General Anwar Hussain appeared on behalf of the Punjab government.

The court summoned the DC and SSP Operations and adjourned the hearing until April 13.
