Social media influencer Alishba Anjum has criticized men for publicly exposing private matters, calling out the unnecessary intrusion into personal lives.
She emphasized that when a woman chooses to remain silent out of respect, airing such issues leaves her with no choice but to respond.
“I don’t understand why some men feel the need to bring private matters into the public, especially when the woman chose to stay silent out of respect. Now you leave her with no choice but to speak,” she said.
Her remarks come amid ongoing discussions surrounding Sehar Hayat’s divorce, sparking a wider conversation on privacy and respect in the digital age.
The controversy began when Sehar Hayat shared a two-part Instagram video detailing her divorce, stating that repeated public mentions of her and her daughter, Ayra Fatima, compelled her to respond after months of silence.
She revealed that she had requested Sami not to mention her or their daughter on social media but felt forced to speak due to continued references, especially around his music promotions.
Sehar opened up about her marriage, alleging trust issues existed even before the wedding. She claimed her haq mehr was altered without her knowledge during the nikah and later discovered inconsistencies that left her feeling deceived.
She also accused Sami of financial dishonesty, noting that she contributed significantly to expenses, including wedding costs, while believing they were building a shared future.
The influencer further made serious allegations of emotional and physical abuse, claiming she faced verbal mistreatment and was physically assaulted on multiple occasions, including during her pregnancy.
She described enduring prolonged mental stress silently, hoping the situation would improve.
Sehar also revealed that conflicts extended beyond the couple, involving disagreements over living arrangements and family dynamics. Despite her request to live separately for peace, the situation worsened, ultimately leading her to seek khula after multiple unresolved issues.
Reflecting on the experience, she said she was mentally exhausted and urged the public to avoid dragging families into personal disputes, especially when children are involved.
Her videos sparked strong reactions across social media, with many influencers and content creators showing support for Sehar.
Followers praised her courage, while some claimed firsthand knowledge of aspects of her situation, lending credibility to her statements. Others openly criticized Sami Rasheed over the allegations.
The discussion resurfaced recently after Sami shared a promotional post for his song referencing Sehar and their daughter, reigniting public debate. Since the videos went live, messages of solidarity, strength, and prayers have continued to pour in, highlighting the broader conversation around privacy, accountability, and respect in the digital age.
