Kim Kardashian’s latest SKIMS release may have gone viral, but not for the reasons she hoped.
The reality star-turned-business mogul unveiled a new product this week called the ‘Ultimate Face Wrap’, designed to sculpt the jawline with collagen-infused fabric.
But fans were quick to point out an uncanny resemblance between the beige face mask and the muzzle famously worn by Anthony Hopkins’ Hannibal Lecter in The Silence of the Lambs.
And then, in a twist no one saw coming, Hopkins himself entered the chat.
The 86-year-old Oscar winner leaned all the way into the internet’s joke, posting a deadpan video of himself wearing a similar mask, a nude post-surgical wrap, while directly addressing Kardashian: “Hello Kim, I’m already feeling 10 years younger. Goodbye.”
He capped off the video with a chilling slurp, straight out of Lecter’s iconic fava beans and Chianti scene. The caption?
“Thank you, Kim. Don’t be afraid to come over for dinner.”
Naturally, the internet erupted. “Anthony Hopkins dissing Kim wasn’t on my 2025 bingo card,” one fan wrote, while another dubbed it “the most important cultural event of the decade.”
“Are you having Kim for dinner??” asked one commenter.
Another joked: “This is the Hannibal reboot we didn’t know we needed.”
Some users even argued it was the best marketing SKIMS could have asked for.
“Kim should pay him,” one wrote and another added: “This sold more than any paid campaign ever could.”
SKIMS described the item as their 'first-ever face innovation,' boasting 'signature sculpting fabric' and 'ultra-soft jaw support'.
But critics didn’t hold back. “State of the world in shambles, people dying… Kim: New Hannibal Lecter nylon face wrap just dropped!!!” one post read.
Another dryly asked: “If it works so well, why didn’t Kris Jenner use this instead of getting a facelift?”
However, the product sold out the same day it launched, proving that in the world of Kardashian marketing, even a cannibal joke can drive sales.
Kim’s awkward runway walk at Balenciaga’s Paris Fashion Week show is still fresh in everyone’s minds. “Go Kim, give us nothing,” one viewer quipped, comparing her stiff strut to “a tired toddler” or “someone walking off Taco Bell at 4am.”
