The Registrar Office of Lahore High Court (LHC) has returned an application filed by Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf (PTI) seeking permission to hold a public rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on August 5, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The Registrar Office returned the PTI’s application on Friday, raising objection for not referring the matter to the Redressal Commission.

PTI Lahore President and MPA Imtiaz Sheikh filed the application in the LHC. Deputy Commissioner, IG Punjab Police and others were made respondents.

On Thursday, the PTI had formally submitted a request to the Islamabad district administration to hold a political rally at F-9 Park on August 5.

According to the application, signed by Regional President Aamir Mughal and Regional General Secretary Malik Aamir, the party has sought permission to hold the public gathering to advance its political narrative.

The PTI stated that the rally aims to promote peaceful political engagement and connect with the public. The district administration has not yet responded to the request.
