Upholding the verdict given by the Peshawar High Court (PHC), the Supreme Court (SC) on Saturday said it was the widow of a deceased retired employee, not his siblings, who was legally entitled to receive the pension and other incentives of her late husband, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
In a four-page verdict, authored by Justice Shakeel Ahmad, it was stated that only the widow or any other person nominated under the law could receive the pension.
It further said that only being legal heirs did not make brothers and sisters entitled to receive the pension.
The verdict read that the payment of pension could be made only according to the concerned laws and rules of an organization.
