List of taxes being charged on per liter diesel, petrol in Pakistan

Ex-refinery price of diesel is Rs177.24 while petrol ex-refinery price is Rs165.30

Federal government has increased diesel price by Rs10.39 per litre from July 1, 2025 resultantly per liter price of diesel has increased from Rs 262.59 to Rs272.98, reported 24NewsHDTV Channel. Here is the list how many types of taxes and charges are being collected on per liter of diesel. 

The ex-refinery price of diesel is Rs177.24. 

Rs 74.51 per liter petroleum levy and Rs 2.50 per liter new tax carbon levy has been imposed at per liter. The margin of oil marketing margin has been fixed at Rs 8 while Rs 2.09 is being charged as inland freight charges. 

The petrol pumps dealers’ margin is Rs 8.64 per liter, however, sales tax on petrol and diesel is zero. 

Rs77.1 paisa is being charged on diesel as carbon levy. Rs18.73 per liter is being collected in the pretext of ISEM, OMC and dealers' margins. 

Likewise, petrol price has been increased by Rs 8.36 per liter from July 1, 2025, petrol price has been hiked by 3.20 percent during the month of June. 

The ex-refinery price of petrol is Rs165.30. The per liter petroleum levy is Rs 75.52 while Rs 2.50 new carbon levy tax has also been imposed on per liter petrol. Rs6.96 is being collected in the name of freight charges on per liter. 

Oil marketing companies margin is Rs 7.87 while filling stations are charging Rs 8.64 per liter as dealer margin. There is no sales tax on petrol as well. Rs 78.2 per liter being collected as carbon levy while ISEM, OMC and dealers' margins stand at Rs 23.47 per liter.
