In a violent assault on Tuesday, armed men attacked the Tehsil Office and three banks in Mastung, setting vehicles and official records on fire.
According to the 24NewsHD TV channel, the assailants opened indiscriminate fire, resulting in the tragic death of a 16-year-old boy who was passing by, while eight others sustained injuries.
Eyewitnesses reported hearing loud explosions following the arson of multiple vehicles. Among the destroyed property were three vehicles parked inside the Tehsil Office, along with important administrative records.
In response, security forces have killed two terrorists and injured three.
An emergency was immediately declared at Mastung Hospital, where three of the injured were taken.
The remaining five injured were shifted to Shaheed Nawab Ghous Bakhsh Hospital.
Meanwhile, the deceased boy’s body was transferred to the District Headquarters Hospital for legal formalities.
As the fire engulfed vehicles, powerful blasts were heard across the area, adding to the panic.
Security forces have launched a comprehensive search operation in the region to trace the attackers.
Later, the Balochistan government spokesperson said in a statement that security forces have repelled an attack by Fitna-ul-Hindustan terrorists in Mastung.
The spokesperson said in a joint operation by FC, CTD, and Levies, two terrorists were killed and three were injured.
According to the Balochistan government spokesperson, the terrorists opened fire on a bank, the Tehsil Office, and other adjacent buildings and offices. The spokesperson also confirmed that a 16-year-old boy was killed in the terrorists' firing.
The spokesperson said the security forces are conducting a clearance operation in the area and trying to trace the attackers’ facilitators.
