A 32-year-old man was seriously injured in an alleged acid attack following a minor dispute in the B-Division police station area of Kasur, the 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the details, the incident took place in Niaz Nagar Leather Market, where two men arrived in a vehicle and poured a bucket containing acid over the victim, identified as Waqas.
As a result of the attack, the victim suffered burns to various parts of his body. He was provided with emergency medical assistance and later transferred to hospital for further treatment.
According to initial reports, the suspects fled the scene immediately after the attack and managed to evade capture. Police have launched a search operation to trace and arrest those involved.
Officers from B-Division Police Station recorded the victim’s statement and have begun collecting evidence as part of the investigation.
Police said the case is being examined from multiple angles and that efforts are under way to identify the motive behind the attack. Authorities added that action is being taken to apprehend the suspects and bring them before the law.
