Pakistan on Wednesday rejected Indian foreign ministry’s (FM) statement made on Monday in which it had condemned Pakistan’s attacks on militants’ infrastructure in Afghanistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Foreign Office (FO) Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said that this ridiculous statement had emanated from a country which had the track record of interfering in its neighbouring country’s internal affairs and causing damage to its sovereignty and stability. “India’s conduct is a violation of the United Nation’s charter,” Andrabi said, adding that India was also denying the people of Jammu and Kashmir their right to self-determination, and had thus committed breach of the relevant UN resolutions.
He went on to say that India also assisted and patronized terrorists operating against Pakistan from Afghan soil.
The spokesperson said that India was continuously playing the role of a spoiler when it came to regional peace.
He said that in order to protect its citizens, Pakistan would continue to take all appropriate steps as per the international law.
The spokesperson said that Pakistan and India had exchanged lists of prisoners through diplomatic sources.
According to an agreement signed on May 21, 2008, both countries exchange lists of prisoners every year on January 1 and July 1.
On the other hand, sources told the 24News TV channel that Pakistan had shared with India lists of 715 Pakistani prisoners.
Sources added that there were 409 civilians and 306 fishermen in these prisoners.
Similarly, head of Indian high commission in Islamabad handed over lists of Indian prisoners to Pakistan’s Foreign Office.
