Pakistani media personality Mishi Khan has come out in support of Sannia Ashfaq, the former wife of cricketer Imad Wasim, after alleged leaked audio recordings surfaced online. Deeply moved by the recordings, Mishi said it was heartbreaking to hear Sannia in tears while claiming that Imad appeared to show little empathy during the conversations.
Taking to social media, Mishi Khan shared an emotional reaction after listening to the alleged audio clips.
"I listened to Sannia Ashfaq's voice notes. The poor woman was crying and pleading, while the person on the other side was making her feel as if he had done her a favour by saying she should be grateful he didn't take the matter to court. People like this deserve to be called out," she said.
Questioning Imad's conduct, Mishi added that if there were compatibility issues in the marriage, they should have been addressed before bringing children into the world.
"Why did you marry her in the first place? Why have three children if you believed you weren't compatible? The least someone can do is comfort the mother of their children instead of making her feel even worse."
She further expressed sympathy for Sannia, saying it was painful to hear a woman in such emotional distress.
"It is so painful to see a woman crying like that. Mothers also need to think about how they raise their sons. A woman leaves her own home, and if she is crying and suffering, the least she deserves is compassion."
Mishi's remarks came after a series of alleged audio recordings, claimed to feature conversations between Imad Wasim and Sannia Ashfaq, went viral on social media.
In one of the alleged recordings, Sannia can reportedly be heard crying while one of their children says, "I don't want to go with Baba. I don't want you, Baba." Another alleged audio circulating online claims that Imad and his mother pressured Sannia to terminate her third pregnancy. The authenticity of these recordings has not been independently verified, and neither Imad Wasim nor Sannia Ashfaq has publicly confirmed the audios.
The controversy has triggered widespread debate online, with many social media users expressing sympathy for Sannia and concern for the children.
