Two bogies of the Pakistan Express derailed near Mubarakpur in Sindh on Sunday morning, 24NewsHD TV Channel reported.

According to the report, the train was en route from Karachi to Multan when the incident occurred in the area of the district of Jacobabad.

Fortunately, no loss of life or injuries was reported in the mishap. However, the response from Pakistan Railways has come under scrutiny, as rescue teams failed to arrive at the site even hours after the derailment.

Initial investigations have been launched to determine the actual cause of the derailment, but the process to remove the affected bogies has yet to begin, leaving the line partially obstructed.

Mubarakpur is a town in the Jacobabad District in the Sindh province of Pakistan. It is near Mian Sahib and Thul in the Sindh province of Pakistan.

This is not the first such incident this year. In April 2025, a freight train derailed near Bin Qasim in Karachi. That derailment severely impacted operations and forced the closure of both up and down railway tracks in the area.
