Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has postponed his planned official visit to Russia in light of escalating regional tensions and the closure of airspace routes after the US and Israel's strikes on Iran, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to informed sources, the prime minister was scheduled to undertake a bilateral visit to Russia from March 2 to 5, where he was expected to hold talks with senior Russian leadership on matters of mutual interest.
However, the worsening security situation in the region and logistical challenges stemming from restricted air corridors prompted the decision to defer the trip.
Sources said that fresh dates for the visit would be finalised and announced at a later stage once conditions stabilise.
