Two policemen were arrested for accepting bribe to release a vehicle loaded with alcohol in Rawalpindi, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
Police also arrested van driver Muhammad Talha and his accomplice and a case has been registered against accused.
According to text of case, the accused were arrested on a tip-off from a car parking lot in the Tahli Mohri area.
The arrested policeman Asghar Khan is posted at RA Bazar police station and Tahir Tariq is posted at Race Course.
The accused were accepting bribe by parking the vehicle in a parking lot near Imambargah Qasr Abbas.
About 34 gallons of alcohol and a Suzuki van used for supply were seized from the accused.
The total quantity of alcohol recovered from the accused is 1,020 liters.
According to initial statement of accused Talha, the alcohol was loaded by Akram, secretary of STR Company in Sundar Estate, Lahore and it was to be delivered to Shani in Kotha Mor, Dhamial.
He said police officers dressed in plain clothes caught him while he was going to Dhamial and officials were making deals with the party over the phone in Lahore.
