As much as 30 percent monthly increase has been witnessed in tax collection by the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in April 2025, exceeding the annual target of Rs9,300 billion set for the last financial year (FY), reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to a circular issued by the FBR, an increase in tax collection has been witnessed despite the payment of Rs43 billion in refunds.
Giving details, the bureau has said 44 per cent increase has been recorded in income tax collection; 17 per cent increase in sales tax collection, and 31 per cent increase in federal excise duty collection.
