The government has announced a reduction in jet fuel prices but the light diesel oil has now become costlier, reflecting a mixed adjustment in petroleum product pricing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The price of jet fuel used in commercial aircraft has been reduced by Rs7.76 per litre, bringing it down from Rs396.31 to Rs388.58 per litre.
In addition, the price of light diesel has been increased by Rs17.03 per litre, moving up from Rs270.51 to Rs287.54 per litre.
The government had increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel last night.
High-speed diesel had been raised by Rs19.39 per litre, taking its price from Rs380.19 to Rs399.58 per litre. Petrol price had also been increased by Rs6.51 per litre, rising from Rs393.35 to Rs399.86 per litre.
