A citizen was shot dead by robbers in the Roshanwala police precincts, while one of the suspects was later killed in a police encounter, authorities said.
According to police, three robbers carried out attacks on three different people along Samundari Road. In D-Type Colony, the suspects opened fire and injured a man identified as Arif. In a separate incident in the Roshanwala area, another citizen, Saeed, was shot dead by the assailants.
Following the incidents, Roshanwala police set up a roadblock to intercept the fleeing suspects. A shootout ensued when police confronted the robbers, resulting in the death of one suspect. The deceased robber was identified as Ehsan, who reportedly had a prior criminal record. Two other suspects managed to escape from the scene.
Police shifted the bodies of both the citizen and the suspect to the mortuary. A search operation has been launched to apprehend the fleeing robbers.
Authorities said further investigation is underway.
