Abdul Rehman Hur Bajwa is leading Islamabad Bar Council elections with 902 votes while his runner up candidate Raja Aleem Abbasi obtained 802 votes, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel. 

A total of 21 candidates were contesting the Islamabad Bar Council elections. The top 5 candidates who receive the most votes in the Bar Council will be declared the winners. 

According to final unofficial results, Ch Hafeezullah Yaqoob is in third place with 812 votes, Zafar Khokhar is in fourth place with 796 votes and Asif Irfan is in fifth place with 701 votes. 

Earlier, polling time of Islamabad Bar Council elections have ended and voters present within the limits of the polling stations will be able to cast votes, as the polling process continued without interval from 9am and continued till 4pm. 

No untoward incident occurred during the polling process. Polling process continued peacefully. 21 candidates contesting for 5 seats of Islamabad Bar Council. 

Earlier, all arrangements were finalized for the Islamabad Bar Council elections, which are set to be held today at the District Judicial Complex. Polling will begin at 9 a.m. and continue uninterrupted until 4 p.m., according to the official schedule.

The District and Sessions Judges (East and West) will perform duties as Presiding Officers, while a total of 20 judges have been deputed as polling officers to ensure smooth and transparent conduct of the elections. A formal notification regarding their appointment has been issued.

This year’s elections will see 21 candidates contesting for five seats in the Islamabad Bar Council. More than 6,000 registered lawyers are eligible to cast their votes, with each voter entitled to five votes.

For the convenience of voters, 20 polling booths have been established within the District Judicial Complex.

Among the contenders, five candidates from the Hamid Group are also in the running, indicating a competitive electoral contest within the legal community.

The Islamabad Bar Council elections are considered one of the most significant events in the legal fraternity’s calendar, shaping the representation and leadership of lawyers practicing in the federal capital.
