Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Ataullah Tarar said on Saturday that after having suffered defeat at the hands of Pakistan in the Operation Sindoor, India had resorted to a campaign of misinformation and disinformation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Addressing a press conference in Islamabad with Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaundry sitting alongside him, Tarar said that Indian intelligence agencies arrested a fisherman named Ijaz Mallah and send him to Pakistan with a task.
“And when Mallah purchased uniforms of Pakistan Army, Rangers and Navy, Pakistani agencies were alerted and they started his surveillance. Finally, he was caught by the coastguards while crossing into India,” he said, adding, “When interrogated, the fisherman confessed that he had been hired by Indian intelligence agencies.”
The minister, on the occasion, played Mallah’s confessional statement in which he said that he had been caught by Indian agencies while he was fishing in the sea. “They asked me to bring uniforms of Pakistan Army, Navy and Rangers to India besides a Zong SIM, Pakistani cigarettes and currencies,” the fishermen disclosed.
Later, he added, he was allowed to go. “I sent to an agency officer some photos from Pakistan. When I again went to the sea for fishing, I was caught by Pakistani agencies,” Mallah explained.
The minister further said that India had not yet digested the defeat it suffered at the hands of Pakistan during Operation Bunyanun Marsoos.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry said that it was Indian propaganda which had now been exposed. “Mallah had been arrested by Indian coastguards in September. We have proof that he was given Rs95,000 by Indian agencies.
The minister informed that apart from videos, there were some audios as well, which would be shared with media. “We want to tell India. Our agencies are alert,” Talal added.
