A luxury and very expensive vehicle, the Range Rover, stolen from the United Kingdom (UK), has been traced to Karachi, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.
According to the report, Interpol Manchester has written a letter seeking the Karachi police’s assistance in recovering the stolen UK vehicle.
According to the Interpol letter to the Pakistani authorities, the high-end SUV was stolen on November 22, 2022, from Harrogate.
Tracking data placed the vehicle’s location in Karachi’s Saddar area.
The stolen vehicle’s position was shared by UK police, while its complete details were also entered into the Interpol SMV (Stolen Motor Vehicle) database.
Sources revealed that the car’s tracker was disconnected in Leeds, UK, before the signal reappeared on February 11 from Korangi Road near Azam Basti, Saddar.
According to the sources, the Anti-Vehicle Lifting Cell (AVLC) of Karachi police has since launched an active search for the vehicle.
Range Rover prices in the UK vary significantly depending on the model, ranging from approximately £44,380 (Rs16.7 million) for an Evoque to around £105,675 (Rs39.9 million) for a standard Range Rover SE.
Premium trims such as HSE, Autobiography, and limited-edition SV variants can cost substantially more.
Interpol Manchester has requested Pakistani authorities to assist UK police in recovering the vehicle, underscoring the international cooperation needed to tackle high-profile auto theft cases.
