Removing the lid from India’s aggressive posture towards Pakistan, former Indian corps commander Kanwal Jeet Singh Dhillon has said that the country has used water as a war weapon against Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
In a statement, he has said that the Indian government first blocked the flow of water towards Pakistan and then suddenly released it due to which flooding was inevitable.
India, during the ongoing floods, released water into four rivers of Punjab namely Ravi, Chenab, Sutlej and Jhelum, which resulted in an extraordinary increase in water levels in these rivers, which ultimately burst their banks, flooding villages and submerging thousands of acres of agricultural land.
The deluge has also taken its toll on human lives and properties besides leading to the displacement of thousands of families.
