A tragic incident unfolded in the suburban village of Adha Badhar, Tehsil Dina, where a mother and her two children died after consuming a poisonous substance, police confirmed Monday.
According to Mangla police station officials, the deceased have been identified as 32-year-old Hajra, her 7-year-old son Qasim, and 5-year-old daughter Zainab. Police teams reached the scene shortly after the incident and began collecting evidence.
Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the deaths resulted from suicide or accidental consumption.
“It is premature to determine the cause at this stage. We are investigating whether the victims consumed something toxic by mistake or intentionally. The exact cause will be established after the forensic report,” police said.
Initial reports suggest the victims ingested a poisonous substance that led to their deaths.
Police said the investigation is ongoing, and further details will be shared once medical and forensic examinations are complete.
