Viral video: Arifa Siddiqui and husband scrub away mud after Lahore floods

Lollywood veteran Arifa Siddiqui is among many who have suffered heavy losses in the wake of the recent devastating rains and floods. 

Her residence in a private housing society in Lahore’s Chuhng area was severely affected after floodwaters entered the property. The artist took to social media to share footage of her flooded home.

In the videos, furniture and household items are seen scattered and damaged after being submerged in water. Arifa Siddiqui, along with her husband, renowned singer and musician Tabeer Ali, can be seen cleaning their residence as the water receded.

After the videos went viral, fans and fellow artists expressed solidarity with Arifa Siddiqui and her family. Many social media users sent prayers and best wishes, while others urged the authorities to extend immediate relief and support to all flood-affected families.

This is not the first time Lahore’s urban areas have faced such challenges.  

The ongoing monsoon rains have impacted both rural and urban populations, with many private housing societies particularly struggling due to inadequate drainage systems and a lack of basic infrastructure.

Through her video messages, Arifa Siddiqui stressed the need for relief measures for families whose homes have been destroyed. 

She pointed out that flood victims are not only facing financial setbacks but are also enduring mental and physical hardship as they attempt to rebuild their lives.
