The session court has rejected the bail plea of PTI leader and former MNA Ahmad Chattha in May 9 Gujranwala Cantt attack case on Saturday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
However, the session court approved the absence appeals of PTI leaders including Umar Ayub, Zartaj Gul and other leaders. The court has extended the temporary bail of Umar Ayub and Zartaj Gul till 15 August. During the hearing, there were tight security arrangements in the court.
Meanwhile, hearing of 2 cases including the attack on Shadman police station on May 9 was held in Kot Lakhpat Jail Lahore.
During the hearing two eyewitnesses appeared in the case. Manzar Ali Gul, admin judge of anti-terrorist court, heard the case. Several witnesses recorded their statements.
Inspector Munir, the investigation officer from Saudi Arabia, also recorded his statement through video link. The inspector of Sarwar road police station is in Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah. Hassam and Khalid, the witnesses of the 9th May conspiracy, were also partially questioned by Advocate Burhan Muazam Malik.
Burhan Muazam advocate appeared on behalf of PTI leader Dr Yasmin Rashid, Shah Mehmood Qureshi and Ejaz Chaudhary. The hearing was put off till 4 August.
