Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday took notice of a video that surfaced on social media showing a child bitten by a snake and sought a detailed report about the incident. Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) administration will submit its final report to the PM office, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

According to details, the child was brought to PIMS on July 31, 2025, at 08.35 am after a snakebite, and within 17 minutes, his detailed examination report and samples were sent for tests.

The injured child was administered ten injections of Antivenom. The sources further said that other medicines were also provided to the victim child after his condition deteriorated.

After injecting Antivenom, some senior physicians and a team of Intensive Care Unit (ICU) also examined the child. Later, the doctors decided to shift the child to a ventilator as his health became more serious.

Sources said that since the ventilator at PIMS Hospital was unavailable, a ventilator was arranged at a private hospital, and after receiving assurance about its availability, the child was shifted there.

The doctors of PIMS also issued a referral letter to the children about the unavailability of a ventilator.

Sources said that more than 680 AV vaccines were present in the stocks of the PIMS.
