Dr. Omer Adil has landed in controversy after making remarks about financially successful women during a recent podcast where he referenced veteran actress Bushra Ansari and legendary singer Madam Noor Jehan.
Speaking on Dr. Ruby Malik's podcast, Omer Adil claimed that when women become the primary earners in a household they often attract people who depend on their income rather than support them. He said that instead of finding a true provider, such women end up with "leeches" who continue benefiting from their success.
While recalling conversation with the late Madam Noor Jehan, Dr Omer said the iconic singer once told him that her voice became the family's main source of livelihood. Using her as an example he said successful women often spend their lives financially supporting people around them.
He also gave example of Bushra Ansari questioning men who rely on their wives earnings instead of contributing financially. He further said that men is the primary breadwinner according to the societal and religious values.
