Lindsay Lohan is closing out her blockbuster comeback year with a coveted New York Magazine cover, proudly flashing six of her 15 tattoos while opening up about the movies and shows that defined her 2025.

The 39-year-old star, who returned to the spotlight with the smash-hit Freakier Friday opposite Jamie Lee Curtis, was selected as one of the featured faces for the magazine’s first-ever Culturati 50 Issue. Lohan was photographed by legendary photographer Mark Seliger, wearing a sleek black strapless gown paired with a striking gold-and-diamond snake necklace.

The minimalist dress revealed several tattoos she usually keeps hidden, including delicate script on the inside of both arms and symbolic markings on her hand. Among Lohan’s extensive ink collection are a star on her left wrist, the phrase La Bella Vita on her hand, a Marilyn Monroe quote, and two red triangles—one with the phrase What Dreams May Come. She also has tattoos on her ribs, foot, and other hand.

In her interview, Lohan revealed she is a huge fan of Brad Pitt’s racing drama F1: The Movie, calling it her favourite film of the year.

“F1: The Movie was thrilling, fast-paced, and beautifully shot,” she said. “The racing felt real and immersive, and the underdog redemption story gave it real heart.”
The film, which also stars Javier Bardem, has been one of 2025’s biggest cinematic hits.

Lohan also praised Sinners as “stylish, dark and unapologetic,” and enjoyed the dark comedy The Roses featuring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman.

Her top TV picks of the year included Wayward, which she described as “gripping and atmospheric,” along with Sirens—a show she admired for its sharp humour and unpredictable characters. She also named Your Friends & Neighbors as another standout for its edgy tone and suspense-filled storytelling.

The Mean Girls alum’s resurgence has been fuelled largely by the upcoming Disney sequel Freakier Friday, hitting cinemas on August 8, 2025. The follow-up sees Lohan and Curtis reprise their beloved mother-daughter roles as another body-swap mishap spirals into family-wide chaos. The ensemble also includes Chad Michael Murray, Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto and Mark Harmon.

Reflecting on the experience, Lohan told ELLE she “never thought” a sequel would happen.
“Bringing a character you knew so well back to life… it’s exciting,” she said. “There’s a comfort in it that you don’t find in a new character.”
