Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi Thursday chaired a special meeting at the South Punjab Secretariat in Multan to review the security arrangements for the upcoming general elections, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
He directed the authorities to ensure foolproof arrangements at all levels and provide a peaceful environment for the voters. He also ordered to install CCTV cameras at the polling stations by February 6 and secure the ballot papers in every case.
He said that it was their duty to conduct transparent elections and they would do it at any cost.
He further instructed to make advance arrangements to deal with any untoward incident.
The meeting was briefed by the Commissioner Multan and RPO Multan about the arrangements and security plan for the general elections.
According to the briefing, 633 polling stations in Multan have been declared sensitive.
The Interior Secretary and the Provincial Election Commission participated in the meeting through video link.
Provincial Ministers Dr. Javed Akram, Mansoor Qadir, Aamir Mir, Inspector General Police, MD Punjab Safe Cities Authority, Multan Commissioner, RPO and concerned officials were also present on the occasion.
