A minor died after falling into an open sewer in Mustafa Abad on Monday, 24NewsHD TV reported.
The 30-year-old child, identified as Ali Hoor, was playing on privately owned land, adjacent to a wedding hall, when he fell into an uncovered gutter.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition but later succumbed to his injuries.
Following the incident, Assistant Commissioner Ghulam Fatima ordered the immediate sealing of the wedding hall.
The residents said the open sewer had posed a long-standing danger, particularly to children, and accused the wedding administration of ignoring repeated complaints.
The administration said further action would be taken after completion of an inquiry into the incident.
