Justin Bieber stepped back into the Grammy Awards spotlight on Sunday, making a rare red-carpet appearance at the 2026 ceremony and signaling a major moment in his ongoing comeback.
The singer arrived at Los Angeles’ Crypto.com Arena hand in hand with his wife, Hailey Bieber, with the couple presenting a united front both stylistically and politically. Dressed head to toe in black, they joined a growing group of artists using the Grammys stage to voice opposition to the second Trump administration and US Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
As they paused for photos, the couple’s message was impossible to miss. Both wore bold white pins reading "ICE OUT", a slogan also displayed by fellow attendees and performers including Joni Mitchell, Kehlani, Jason Isbell and Bon Iver’s Justin Vernon.
At 31, Bieber is confirmed as one of the night’s performers, marking his first appearance at the Grammys in four years. His last performance came in 2022, when he delivered a crowd-pleasing rendition of Peaches alongside Giveon and Daniel Caesar.
Hailey turned heads in a sculptural black off-the-shoulder Alaïa gown that emphasized her slim silhouette. The design featured sheer panels at the hips, subtly revealing her figure, and flowed into a floor-length skirt that trailed elegantly behind her. She pinned her own "ICE OUT" badge near the neckline of the dress.
Her accessories were restrained but striking. She skipped excess jewelry, opting instead to showcase her oversized engagement ring and a silver necklace anchored by a large, gleaming diamond.
Justin departed from his signature streetwear look, choosing an oversized black Balenciaga suit. The double-breasted jacket hung loosely and was worn unbuttoned over a simple black shirt, paired with baggy trousers and polished black loafers. He offset the monochrome outfit with the bright white "ICE OUT" pin on his lapel and added a touch of flash with a diamond necklace.
Despite the conspicuous protest, neither Justin nor Hailey publicly addressed ICE, nor did they comment on the killings of Keith Porter in Los Angeles and Renée Good and VA ICU nurse Alex Pretti in Minneapolis, all allegedly at the hands of ICE agents.
Inside the arena, the couple was seen catching up with Bad Bunny, a longtime and outspoken critic of ICE and the Trump administration. The Puerto Rican star is slated to perform at this month’s Super Bowl halftime show, an event ICE has announced will be patrolled by its agents.
Musically, Bieber entered the night with four nominations. He is up for Album of the Year and Best Pop Vocal Album for Swag, Best Pop Solo Performance for Daisies, and Best R&B Performance for Yukon. Across his career, the Canadian star has amassed 23 Grammy nominations and two wins.
Adding another layer of intrigue to the evening, Bieber’s ex-girlfriend Selena Gomez is also expected to attend. Gomez and her husband, producer Benny Blanco, are nominated for their collaboration Bluest Flame, potentially placing the former couple under the same roof at one of the music industry’s most closely watched events.
Bieber attended the ceremony alongside Hailey, who has been a constant presence throughout his recent professional revival. His return to form began in 2025 with the release of SWAG, which marked his first album after a prolonged hiatus caused by health issues.
