In an interesting incident in the United States, a thief returned items he had stolen from a music store in New Jersey, leaving behind an apology note for the store owner, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday.
According to foreign media reports, the theft occurred at a vintage guitar shop, where the suspect had stolen two mandolins a few days prior.
The thief, reportedly under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crime, later realized his mistake and decided to make amends.
The store owner shared the story on Facebook, confirming that both stolen mandolins were returned, along with a handwritten note that read: “Please forgive me, I was drunk. My Christmas, you are a good person.”
The thief reportedly quietly opened the store’s front door, placed the mandolins in shopping bags, and left without being seen.
The shop owner, who has been running the business since 1981, described the incident as “incredible, like a scene from a quirky movie with a happy ending.”
The two instruments were valued at $3,500 and $4,250, respectively.
