The federal government has issued a statutory regulatory order (SRO) imposing five to 40 percent regulatory duty (RD) on 693 items, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
According to the SRO, a five percent regulatory duty will be levied on the import of auto parts, and some goods were exempted from the regulatory duty.
The government also decreased the regulatory duty on some items. The items with special Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) codes that were exempted from regulatory duty include peanuts, raw marble.
Regulatory duty also decreased by 10 percent on the import of Afghan-origin betel nuts with a special PCT code.
As per SRO, a five percent regulatory duty is imposed on the import of domestic appliances and vehicle kits. No regulatory duty will be imposed on the import of a complete built unit.
The raw material, which will be used by local vendors for the manufacturing of auto parts for vehicles, will also get an exemption from the imposition of Regulatory Duty.
No regulatory duty will be levied on rubber and metal used for the manufacturing of small rollers used in spinning machinery.
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has officially notified the regulatory duty (RD) rates applicable for the fiscal year 2025–26, effective from July 1, 2025.
These updated rates were issued through SRO 1152(I)/2025, dated June 30, 2025, under the authority of the Finance Act, 2025.
