Popular Pakistani actress Mariyam Nafees has spoken out against ridiculous and very annoying myths surrounding new mommies. Taking to her Instagram handle, the female actress shared an upsetting story where a mother-in-law asked her daughter-in-law not to feed her child due to wet hair.

Condemning the same, Mariyam wrote: “These kinds of stories boil my blood.”

In this 21st century, when technology has almost overcome the world, such ‘outdated’ beliefs are still ruling in society, causing great anxiety and depression for new moms.

Moving on, in the latest round of events, Mariyam shared a distressing story originally posted by ‘Soul Sisters Pakistan,’ which mentioned several examples, such as the belief that a mother cannot feed her child when she is cold, or when her hair is wet, fearing the baby will also get cold.

“Went to somebody's house yesterday the mother of new born baby was politely informed by the mother in law not to feed the baby because she took bath and her hairs were wet. The mother waited till her hairs get dry and by that time the infant went to long deep sleep with empty tummy. Even in this era of Al we are not changing. May Allah make things easy for new brides’ new moms and people learn the courtesy that the mom knew the needs of her child.

Me looking at the tiny baby hungry and crying felt bad what about the mother who wanted to feed but we're not allowed. If you are reading this plz be informed milk is made by the blood. Gastric issue of moms will not cause any harm to the baby neither the wet hairs. Moon eclipse does not cause cleft pallet.its okay to let the baby sleep in quiet place no need to bang tawa and danda over the little Jans head. Plz ACT NORMAL ACT HUMAN.

Thank you,” the content of the upload reads.

Mariyam Nafees reacted strongly to the abovementioned upload and urged moms to listen to everyone but act on only what feels right.

Her exact words read: “Read this and kinda boiled my blood. The girl here stated some legit facts.

Also, momma's - suno sabki, karo apni. You know what's best for your child. You're the MOTHER. You're God gifted when it comes to instincts.

You do what YOU feel is right!”
