Police in Swat on Thursday registered an FIR against the boat operator in Saifullah Lake boat tragedy in which at least seven people lost their lives, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
As per initial investigation, the incident took place after the boat’s engine stopped functioning.
Police were conducting raids for the arrest of the boat owner till last reports came in.
Meanwhile, bodies of six members of the same family who had drowned in a lake in Swat on Wednesday were brought to Lahore on Thursday.
However, the body of 24-year-old Bushra who had returned from the USA only five days ago after completing her education could not be found.
The deceased were identified as 65-year-old Colonel (r) Amir Ondal, his 20-year-old son, Abdullah Ondal, 27-year-old Parwa Ondal, 23-year-old Raweel Ondal, and Parwa’s one-year-old son and five-year-old daughter.
At least seven tourists died and seven others got injured after a boat capsized in Saifullah Lake in Swat on Wednesday.
Rescue officials shifted the bodies and injured victims to Kalam Hospital.
Officials confirmed that the tourists were from Lahore.
Seven people, apparently from the same family, were on board the boat when the tragedy struck.
Bodies of six people were recovered and shifted to THQ Hospital, Kalam, while a 17-year-old girl was still missing and an operation was underway to find her.
On receiving the information, rescue teams, ambulances and tourism police were immediately dispatched to the scene.
Despite difficult and mountainous terrain, the rescue personnel reached the spot on time.
The Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA) also provided full support in the rescue operation along with Rescue 1122, the district administration, Swat Police, Tourism Police and the local Jeep Association.
