Pakistani actress and model Merub Ali has left fans concerned after revealing that she underwent hand surgery following months of pain and mobility issues caused by a trigger finger condition.
Taking to Instagram, Merub shared a candid video documenting her medical journey, from diagnosis and surgery preparation to her recovery process.
She paired the video with a caption that read, “I’m in Spain without the S,” humorously hinting at the pain she had been experiencing.

Speaking directly to her followers, the actress explained that many people had been asking how she ended up in the situation. Merub revealed that her finger had been locking repeatedly, making even simple movements difficult.
“I went to a rheumatologist, I went to a neurologist, and they all said I was fine,” she shared. “Then I went to an orthopedic specialist who told me I needed surgery. There was going to be a small incision to release my trigger finger.”
She further demonstrated how her finger would become stuck whenever she tried to bend it, explaining why medical intervention eventually became necessary.
The video also showed Merub arriving at the hospital, where she pointed out a star-shaped marking placed on her hand to identify the exact location of the procedure.
While waiting for surgery, she admitted feeling nervous and said she had stopped for coffee beforehand to calm herself.
Later, the actress filmed parts of the surgery preparation process, sharing her thoughts with fans before the procedure began. She reassured viewers that the operation seemed fairly straightforward and continued documenting the experience throughout the day.

However, after the operation, Merub returned with a different update.
“Turns out I want to tell you guys that this wasn’t just a tiny cut,” she said. “It’s post-surgery now, and I’m in a lot of pain, but we’re recovering. Love you guys, bye.”
Following the procedure, Merub also shared a health update on Instagram Stories, posting a photo with her hand heavily bandaged while giving a thumbs-up gesture.
Reassuring worried followers, she wrote, “All good now, thx for duas,” thanking fans for their prayers and support.

In another story, the actress responded to questions about whether physiotherapy could have prevented surgery. Clarifying the matter, Merub explained that she initially tried physiotherapy but did not experience any improvement.
“I opted for physiotherapy in the start. It didn’t work for me at all. In fact, it worsened my finger. After trying everything, I finally got the surgery done,” she wrote.
Despite the painful recovery, Merub managed to find humor in the situation. She later reshared a fan’s comment comparing her bandaged hand to a famous Pakistani internet meme.
Amused by the comparison, the actress recreated the pose and admitted she had “never laughed harder,” showing that her sense of humour remained intact even during recovery.
The updates quickly attracted attention across social media, with fans flooding her comments section with prayers, well wishes and messages for a speedy recovery.
