Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqir has been appointed the chairperson of the Sindh Human Rights Commission after approval from the Sindh Cabinet.
According to details, Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqir’s appointment has been made for a period of five years. The post of chairperson of the Commission had remained vacant following the removal of Iqbal Ahmed Dathu from office.
The Human Rights Department has issued a formal notification regarding the appointment.
It is also noted that Justice (Retd) Maqbool Baqir has previously served as the caretaker chief minister of Sindh.
