The Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) has prepared a shadow budget ahead of the presentation of the national budget, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Senior party leader Shabbir Qaimkhani said on Tuesday that the party would present the document, containing recommendations to make improvements in the agriculture and IT sectors, to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the ongoing week. “Apart from that, the budget also contains recommendations to strengthen the country’s economy,” he said, and added that suggestions had also been given to make the assets and investment of overseas Pakistanis in the country secure.
Qaimkhani elaborated that stress had been laid in the document to increase wages of labourers. “Besides that, a request has been made to earmark as many funds as possible for Karachi’s development projects.”
The MQM-P leader said that the advisory board, constituted in connection with making preparations for the budget, had also held meetings with industrialists and traders.
