The Pakistan Olympic Association (POA) on Tuesday hosted a media briefing at POA House in Lahore as part of activities linked to the OCA Fun Run campaign for the 20th Asian Games Aichi-Nagoya 2026.
The briefing was attended by POA President Mian Arif Saeed, Secretary General Muhammad Khalid Mahmood, representatives of the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Organizing Committee Hiroshi Sakai and Azusa Dodo, Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) delegates Anthony Al-Tahash and Zahid Hafeez, along with media representatives and POA officials.
Officials described the OCA Fun Run as an initiative aimed at promoting the core values of the Olympic and Asian sports movement, including friendship, unity, excellence and healthy living. They said the campaign seeks to engage athletes, students, sports administrators, families and communities across Asia while building enthusiasm for the upcoming Asian Games.
During the briefing, delegates welcomed the progress made in preparations for the Fun Run and praised the cooperation between Olympic bodies and partner organizations.
They also highlighted the strong participation of Pakistani youth in an artwork and painting competition organized by the National Olympic Committee of Pakistan to promote the Games. Officials said 156 entries were received, of which four artworks were shortlisted by a panel that included international delegates.
The selected artworks will be sent to the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Organizing Committee for possible exhibition during the Asian Games, officials said.
Representatives of the organizing committee and the OCA said preparations for the Games were progressing rapidly in coordination with stakeholders and reaffirmed their commitment to delivering a successful event.
They also acknowledged the support of National Olympic Committees across Asia and thanked the Pakistan Olympic Association for hosting the delegation and facilitating the promotional activities.
