Six people lost their lives when their car met with an accident in Kohistan on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The incident occurred near Lower Matta Banda Chowki. The car was going from Gilgit to Rawalpindi.
The identification process of the dead persons was underway. The dead persons are residents of Muzaffargarh, Khanewal, and other areas.
Soon after receiving the report, the rescue and police teams rushed to the spot and started a rescue operation.
Earlier on May 31, 2026, seven people, including a driver from Darel, lost their lives in a tragic road accident on the route leading to the popular tourist destination of Fairy Meadows in Diamer district.
According to police sources, the vehicle plunged into a deep ravine, killing all seven occupants on the spot. The deceased included six tourists, four of whom were reportedly from Punjab and two from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police, rescue teams, and local volunteers rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the accident and launched a recovery operation.
The bodies are being retrieved from the ravine and will be shifted to the Regional Headquarters Hospital in Chilas for further procedures. Authorities have initiated an investigation into the cause of the accident.
