Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed on Tuesday announced that he is returning to legal practice after his membership of the Rawalpindi Bar was restored following a gap of nearly five decades, 24NewsHD TV reported.
Speaking to the media, Sheikh Rasheed said he had now become a lifetime member of the bar after his membership was reinstated.
“After 50 years, I have become a lifetime member of the bar again,” he said, adding that he intended to resume work as a lawyer.
He said he would focus on “truth, law, and the betterment of the country” and pledged to provide legal support and practical assistance to ordinary citizens, particularly the poor.
It is pertinent to mention that Sheikh Rasheed had recently submitted an application for the restoration of his membership of the Rawalpindi District Bar through the lawyer Sardar Razaq.
Sheikh is a veteran politician who has remained active in politics for decades and is widely known for his long public career.
