FIA arrests four human smugglers from Lahore

The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) on Sunday arrested four persons in Lahore, including the man who was most wanted in connection with human trafficking, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. 

According to the FIA spokesperson, the suspects were identified as Raheel Pervez, Muhammad Omar, Yamam Nadeem and Rohan Mahmood and they were arrested from Model Town, Rahman Garden and Shama Cinema areas of the provincial capital. 

The FIA officials said they were involved in extorting money from people in the name of issuing fake visas to them.

The arrested suspect Raheel Pervez is a wanted human trafficker of the Red Book.

The suspect was wanted by the Anti-Human Trafficking Circle Lahore since 2019.

The suspect collected Rs9 million to send citizens to Canada.

The other suspects, who were running an illegal travel agency, minted millions of rupees by promising citizens jobs abroad.

The accused used to commit visa fraud by receiving huge sums of money.

During the raids, 12 Pakistani passports, educational documents and mobile SIMs were recovered from the accused.

The accused used to go into hiding after receiving huge sums of money.

The accused could not satisfy the authorities regarding the recovered passports.

The accused has been arrested and an investigation has been initiated.

Director FIA Lahore Sarfaraz Khan Virk said that a crackdown is underway against the elements involved in human trafficking. 

Action against the human trafficking network has been further intensified and a zero tolerance policy against human trafficking is being implemented.

Strict punishment will be given to the arrested human traffickers according to the law. 

The human trafficking network will be eradicated at the international level.
