Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz on Monday directed the concerned officials to submit plan within seven days for the installation of micro-security ironclad cover, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
She was chairing a high-level meeting on the law-and-order situation in the province.
The meeting approved pasting of E tags on all vehicles, including motorcycles, and setting up Punjab cybercrime investigation units under which special cells would be formed for women and girls, who are the victims of cybercrimes.
The meeting okayed setting up online crime centers in every district.
It was agreed that there would be no safe route for criminals in Punjab.
Installation of searchlights and the surveillance of the province’s borders through drones was also approved.
CM Maryam directed that monitoring from rooftops should be ensured at all checkpoints.
She ordered that steps be taken immediately for the purchase of latest drone defence system.
She directed that measures be taken to ensure ban on flying drones in the province.
The chief minister also ordered the continuation of combing operation in order to arrest outlaws and terrorists.
The chief minister said that there was no room for complacency in the current situation and the government would have to remain on its toes.
She noted that warfare had changed in modern times. “We will have to remain prepared. And together will we have to defeat the menace of terrorism.”
