Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) issued a NOTAM (notice to airmen) regarding the closing of Lahore and Karachi flight information regions’ routes at different timings, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to NOTAM issued on Monday, the airspace of several sectors will be closed due to exercises of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF).
Air routes for commercial flights will be closed from March 3 to March 31.
Earlier, over 70 international flights of different airlines were scheduled to depart from Pakistan due to the US-Iran and Israel war.
These flights were scheduled to take off for their destinations from Allama Iqbal International Airport (AIIA), Lahore; Jinnah International Airport (JIAP), Karachi; New Islamabad International Airport (NIIA), Islamabad; and Peshawar.
Sources said that the majority of flights that were scheduled to land in Middle East countries were from Islamabad, Karachi, and Lahore.
