Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have shared the stage at World Audio Visual and Entertainment Summit (WAVES) 2025, where the king Khan revealed the best role for the female star. Talking about the same, he said: “The best role for Deepika Padukone would be as a mother to her daughter Dua.”
During the panel discussion, Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika revisited their working experience together, particularly in the film Om Shanti Om.
The female star praised King Khan and labeled him as the biggest superstar of the country.
Recalling working experience with Shah Rukh Khan in Om Shanti Om, Deepika said: “Call it fate, hard work or whatever. I feel the point is that it all felt like a home, comfortable; I was free to make mistakes and show my vulnerability, and I believe that's why I flourished, and the movie went on to do what it did as it was created with immense love."
While responding, Shah Rukh Khan expressed admiration for the female star and asked for permission to make a personal comment about her on the occasion. He said that he thinks that despite the various excellent on-screen roles performed by Deepika in her career, her best role would always be as a mother to her daughter, Dua. In his words:
"I just want to express one more thing, which is quite personal, so please don’t mind if I'm stepping in beyond boundaries. I believe the role she will play the best, Inshallah, will be as a mother now with daughter Dua. And I think she is really going to be a fantastic mother."
